  Investigations Specialist

  As an Investigative Specialist with Adult Protective Services, I am responsible for investigating allegations of abuse, neglect, and/or financial exploitation to the vulnerable adult population. Investigations include conducting client and alleged perpetrator interviews, documenting all case contacts, gathering and evaluating medical records, and in some cases, preparing a legally sound case to present in order to protect the vulnerable adults in the community. A large part of my job is locating and referring clients to resources in the communities in which they live and striving to help adults live safely in the least restrictive environment possible. I work closely with law enforcement, the district attorney's office, the health licensing board for individuals and facilities, and various other departments within the State of Tennessee government system.
