Project involved research into increasing the drug release time of polymer microparticles.

    • Agricultural University of Krakow

      Oct 2008 - Jun 2010
Masters Project at Department of Chemistry and Physics

The subject of my Masters project, “The effect of silver nanoparticles on selected species of Fusarium fungi”, involved production of silver nanoparticles and examining their effect on fungal pathogens of plants, especially Fusarium species.

    • University of Bristol

      Oct 2010 - Feb 2015

My PhD area was focused on the production of natural compounds by fungi, particularly on programming of polyketide synthesis enzymes in Beauveria and Cordyceps species and on production of statins in heterologous host A. oryzae. The project involved many molecular biology techniques to create and express multiple gene constructs and analytical chemistry methods such as HPLC-MS and NMR to assess the metabolite production. As part of the PhD experience I was able to participate in many courses and conferences including John Innes/Rudjer Bošković Summer Schools in Applied Molecular Microbiology, 12th International Symposium on the Genetics of Industrial Microorganisms and European Conference on Fungal Genetics. This involved numerous successful grant applications and presenting my work to scientific community. Show less I was a part of the highly trained demonstrators' team at the University of Bristol, responsible for supervising laboratory practicals for large groups of undergraduate students spanning for more than 4 weeks. For 4 years during my PhD I also closely supervised small groups of undergraduate students during their practical courses, which involved day-to-day experiment and work load organisation and supervision, as well as mentoring and coaching for project reports and presentations. I also served as a 1:1 tutor to a number of students. Show less

      PhD Research Collaboration

Research collaboration involved successful production and optimisation of production of lovastatin in A. oryzae as heterologous host using multi-gene expression system. The collaboration involved regular meetings and progress updates, and cooperation with scientific and non-scientific board and staff members, which provided me with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • KOZMETICS

      Jun 2015 - now
      Founder

KOZMETICS delivers fully natural and handmade skincare. In this role I combine my experience as a scientist with my passion for natural beauty products. R&D is a huge part of the role and the one I particularly enjoy. Being involved in a brand development from the beginning is hugely satisfactory.
