  South west regional field sales manager - income protection division

  When I was recruited in my role as Regional Field Sales Manager, I was given an product application form for their flagship product “Safeguard Income Protection Plan”, a product brochure and a rate table, I was then given the charge to set up and develop a sales force for the company in the South West. I designed then implemented a structured Accreditation and Training Course for all new recruits that I had selected to work with in my region, which resulted in my division having the highest retention of advisers of any division in the U.K. and the lowest H.O. Training Course costs.From a standing start, my division generated over £500,000 in business in my first full years production, with a team of twelve active advisers. I held regular team meetings and individual appraisals with all of my advisers to ensure that they were all striving to push their agencies forward, and shared information and good working practice. It was standard practice for me to accompany advisers out in the field to show them how to present and close with prospects.In the first full years production which was Jan 99 – Dec 99, three of my I.P advisers from the South West Division finished in the top six in the country for highest issued business in the U.K. This resulted in them all qualifying for the conventions that N.U.H.C put on in March and April of that year. I won the top convention, held by N.U.H.C, as one of the top two Field Sales Managers of 1999. Show less

  I approached the two main directors of Insurety Plc with a comprehensive business plan that I had put together, showing them how I could set up the corporate benefits division of Insurety Plc. The division would specialize in worksite marketing, which is best described as the sale of financial services products directly to employers for the benefit of the employees, at no cost to the employer.The company was launched in Sept 2000 with six benefits advisers. Initially my team started doing business with 10 – 20 man companies, within three months they were dealing with 100 man companies, within 6 months 400 – 600 man companies, then 12 months from the launch date, I brought on board what was then the biggest group voluntary scheme in the UK. The company had 22 sites throughout the UK with in excess of 14,000 employees. Myself and my team spent the last 14 months with ICS rolling the benefits program out to each of the sites throughout the UK. Prior to leaving Insurety I set up and managed a tele-canvassing center for Insurety at Clarence House in Newport, supplying qualified leads to a selective team of healthcare advisers within ICS.   I founded the innovative multimedia film production company VIP Film Productions Ltd in February 2006. The aim of the company was to bring new and exciting dynamics to the world of film production. Having already viewed the trends that were developing in the USA over the previous five years, regarding Broadband TV, video streaming and Green Screen Technology, he invested substantially in the company to become a market leader in this developing market. VIP Film Productions launched the first broadband TV channel in the UK, it was called Franchise News 24. I was also responsible for generating advertising revenue through advertisers and sponsors that wished to market their franchise opportunity on the channel, developing the program content and interviewing guests on the channel. He sold a majority shareholding in the company in April 2007.Main Achievements:Raising the bar, VIP Film Productions were the first film production company in the UK to produce cost effective chroma keying green screen technology which incorporated virtual studio sets.The first independent film production company in the UK to launch and run a broadband TV channel One of the first companies in the UK to bring together traditional web site design, html, java script, flash, and streaming media technology to produce the first broadband TV channel and interactive multimedia website in the UKWithin eight weeks of launching the channel on the View TV Portal, the channel was picked up by no fewer than a dozen worldwide portals that were attracting in excess of 115 million hits per month collectively. I was also asked to develop, launch and market a range of online video options for the company's core and potential new clients.Main Achievements:Re-designed and re-built a new state of the art green screen production studio within their multi-media center, 2nd floor Park Street.Developed a comprehensive range of online video advertising options for Media Wales Sales Teams.Helped train the journalists to produce their own short weekly online news shows, like Focus on Football, Focus on Rugby, The Arts Show, and The Business Show.Rolled out the new film production facilities through studio presentation to all management and staff, including new and existing clients throughout 2009.Introduced a Live Video Switching Multi-Camera Set Up with live chroma keying suite for weekly online broadband TV shows.
