      Rutgers University Dance Marathon is New Jersey's largest student run philanthropic event, raising money for Embrace Kids Foundation - a nonprofit organization local to New Brunswick, NJ in service to children and families in New Jersey suffering from life threatening illnesses. In 2018, RUDM raised $1,055,468.37 for Embrace Kids foundation to fund programs that support the non-medical needs of these children suffering from diseases such as cancer and sickle cell anemia. As a captain, some of my responsibilities were as follows:• Actively recruit students to participate in the culminating Dance Marathon, a 48 hour long event • Lead teams in fundraising by setting goals, providing fundraising opportunities, and by example • Coordinate the execution of the marathon with a team of captains following an outlined central planning network• Maintain energy and enthusiasm for an extended period of 48 hours straight• Speak on stage in front of 2000+ people Show less
