GHD's Organic Growth Fund (OGF) is not just about creating a delivery process for commercialising good ideas, but also ensuring that creative and entrepreneurial thinking is embraced and supported. The fund is to support initiatives that benefit our business nationally or globally; by funding the investment needed in people, technology and/or partnerships to enhance client relationships, achieve new streams of revenue and create further leverage opportunities. To date we have established a multi million dollar portfolio of investments. Show less David previously was the Operations Manager for GHD's South Queensland business (Rev >$100 M) and based in Brisbane. He was responsible for supporting the SEQld regional manager with all operational matters extending from Bundaberg in north to Gold Coast in the south; and associated with all consulting activities across our five (5) market sectors of Energy & Resources, Water, Environment, Transportation and Property & Buildings. During this period David also masterminded and established GHD Australia's national direct workshare program (insourcing) with our GHD Philippines operation. This program has been a big success ever since. http://www.ghd.com/global/locations/australia/queensland/ Show less Responsible for strategic growth and development of our Energy & Resources portfolio globally including oil & gas, mining and power sectors. Significant time was spent establishing a number of national and global partnerships in the O&G and mining sectors that resulted in major project/client success. This included identifying and establishing a partnership with US based firm EDG Inc in 2012; and as a result GHD supported EDG Australia deliver their Brownfield Engineering Services contract with Chevron Australia since mid 2013. David also played an important role in the acquisition of Hill Michael consultants into GHD's power business nationally. Show less Responsible for full P&L accountability as well as growth and development of GHD's South Australian business over a six year period. This included more than doubling employee numbers, tripling gross revenue (>$45m p.a.), doubling profitability %, establishing regional offices, establishing eight more business units, two acquisitions, winning major projects in the private and public sector; and relocating business to green star premises. Project wins of significance included the South Road Superway, BHPB Olympic Dam Desalination Plant and Water Supply feasibility study, BHPB Olympic Dam Concentrator Upgrade, owners engineer representatives for Adelaide Desalination Plant and the HNA Edinburgh Defence Precinct. Show less Over a period of six years gradually building up the regional office in Mackay. By being locally based, responsive to our local client needs, growing and diversifying our in-house capability with the right people resulted in gaining market share and building the business from 3 to 22 people. Predominant projects were associated with residential land development, transport and main roads projects, industrial buildings and commercial properties, mine infrastructure projects, port infrastructure and coal terminal projects, water and waste water projects. Of significance was our successful penetration of the mining and mining support industry in providing non process infrastructure and during a down turn cycle. Show less
