  I investigated crayfish balance mechanisms by studying movement in their raised claws. We used an infrared camera to record claw location in 3D space. I wrote a Python program to translate this data into acceleration and calculate an appropriate threshold value to distinguish true acceleration from noisy data. The program then recorded the time between accelerations. The preliminary data did not indicate any relationship between crayfish and human balance.

  I ran the lab for the introductory Python class. I both managed the lab itself and held office hours to help the students understand the material. I also wrote answer keys for the problems and made sure that the students completed them.

  I designed and implemented mobile apps for county residents and employees using AngularJS. My primary project was a front-end redesign of an app which allows Pierce County employees to upload photos from mobile devices to a database. I also helped to port an app to Windows phone.
