  Manage global industrial engineering activities for preproduction as well as traditional industrial engineering deliverables ( standard work, layouts, job aids, capacity optimization, etc...), manufacturing system design, lean equipment process, equipment reuse and redeployment process, definition of product bill of process and application, conversion cost rates, and manufacturing strategy definition and integration across regions and product lines. Defined the Equipment redeployment process and realized significant double digit savings ($millions). Tyipcal results from the manufacturing system design process is 15% on program capital and 20% on labor reduction. Show less Responsibilities included leading the Lean activities (application of lean tools and methods) for the Automotive Holdings Group at Delphi. Span of responsibility was 5 plants in the United States. Determined and provide the necessary support and direction for the plants to achieve improvements to meet their profit committments. Results included a 43% throughput improvement in a struggling module without capital investment through use of simple visuals, buffers, uptime activities, and downtime protocal on the lead operation. Sequential build implemented on a struggling product line improved the manufacturing expense by 7% to sales in 4 months. Implemented metrics web site, floor space database, greenfield operations cost model, and a new site selection process that was adapted by the Facilities team at headquarters. Lead Process and Tools center of expertise for Delphi Corporate. this COE was charged with determining strategies to ensure the Process and Tool engineers had the skills and standard work to ensure delivery of robust equipment and tools that support our lean Manufacturing Systems for the entire company. Accomplishments included publishing a lean equipment design manual and rolling out the lean equipment process for inteior and safety products. Typical results were 15 % capital reduction. Also particiapted with the team that defined our Manufacturing System Design Process and rolled out the implementation for the Interior and Safety products. Show less Define, populate, and lead a new Manufacturing Enigneering Department established to support the overseas joint ventures and installations that are required for global growth. Developed the manufacturing engineering plan for a new Argentina joint venture and implemented on site (229 days). Responsible for start up, production readiness, product engineering, equipment and tools, for interior prudcuts. Created interiors manufacturing plans for a China joint venture. Prepared the manufacturing requirments and assisted in the presentation of the China National Airbag Proposal to the Chinese Government. Product team leader for airbags concurrent with this assignment. Launched 8 new programs in interiors. Completed 5 welding cells in US and Mexico as well as numerous other manufacturing cells across other product lines (springs, motor mounts, airbags) and processes (signature analysis, assembly, waterjet cutting, vision, and non PLC application software).
