Enforce Washington State Food Code and Pacific County Policy, which involves giving violations during inspections, writing enforcement letters, holding hearings with permit holders, and posting Stop Work Orders on closing establishments. Investigate complaints concerning public health safety at retail food establishments. Work with other departments, such as Washington State DOH and WSDA, on foodborne illness investigations. Teach the monthly food handlers class and proctor the test to earn a Food Worker Card. Answer phone calls and talk with customers at the front counter of the DCD offices. Maintain the Pacific County Water Lab license and accreditation through the Washington State Department of Ecology.
