After my degree at Napier this was the first proper job in the industry I ever had. And it taught me all I know. OK, most of what I know. It was a steep learning curve, but the experience I got on the job was amazing. I learnt Project Management from the ground up, and got to work with some great people. It gave me access to all parts of the industry; from managing photographers, to coordinating Directors of the Board and emphasised attention to detail for the all-important Statement of Accounts.I also got to be involved in the Business Development part early on; I managed the database of clients and potential clients, and a portion of time was spent honing my phone skills. This job also luckily launched me in to Digital; Annual Reporting and Corporate Comms in general were the stepping stones, and it was the right time as clients wanted more from their websites.I would still never go back to those late nights proof passing at the printers though - I hope times have changed....
