  I interned for two months at a pharmaceutical department managed by Amiram Goldblum in the Hebrew University. I mainly aided in the development of a multi-targeting obesity drug, it’s main function was the antagonistic targeting of the Cannabinoid Receptor 1 (CB1) in the peripheral in addition to a handful smaller projects. Using KNIME, I designed a model of proteins which would agonise the Thyroid Hormone Receptor Beta (THRB). To isolate proteins which were both THRB agonists and CB1 antagonists, I screened my model against an already built CB1 model. Finally using MAESTRO I docked the isolated structures onto the THRB, omitting those which exhibited undesirable properties. These structure are now being prepared for the next stages of drug development, such as in vivo testing. Other smaller projects I took upon include: research into drug toxicity and mutagenicity, and the investigation of other potential drug targets. Show less
