    • Edinburgh International Science Festival

      Jan 2018 - Apr 2018

I delivered workshops at the City Art Centre as part of Edinburgh International Science Festival and within a team of six was responsible for delivering an exciting and engaging education-focused activity based on ER Surgery. In a typical day we ran eight 45 minute workshops for groups of 16 young children aged 8+ and as well as leading these activities was responsible for managing the space, consumables and timing for the event. I worked as a guide at this immersive careers education event designed to give secondary school students a new way to think about their futures and highlighting the opportunities available to those who study STEM subjects. I worked with a team to deliver workshops at the Abu Dhabi Science Festival 2018. I trained and led a group of science communicators in the delivery of interactive science activities during the festival aimed at children aged 5-14 and managed all aspects of the event.

    • Myeloma UK

      Aug 2018 - now

I lead our policy work across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, as an individual charity and part of incredible coalitions and alliances like Cancer52, One Cancer Voice and the Blood Cancer Alliance. I also steward a group of amazing volunteers who make up our Advocacy Partner Panel, and help to shape our work and ensure we're putting the patient voice the centre of everything we do. Our team works to ensure that the patient voice is heard and acted upon by key decision makers. We do this by ensuring that the needs and priorities of myeloma patients are understood, represented, valued and addressed in developing treatment and care.
