Working with Ann Challenor-Chadwick via our company Cause UK we maximise media coverage and profile for the bakery as well as fundraising opportunities and entrepreneurial commercial projects. Cause UK not only did PR for the Veterans Artisan Bakery CIC, but raised funds to establish and launch the bakery in 2012, recruiting celebrity chef Marco Pierre White in a Yorkshire Post campaign. The Veterans Bakery is a therapeutic bakery for former military personnel at risk of homelessness, PTSD and addiction.Media coverage has included the Wall Street Journal, BBC radio York, Yorkshire Post, Forces TV, BBC Online, BBC Radio 4’s The Food Programme, BBC Inside Out, Yorkshire Life, Inside Housing magazine, The Big Issue, and many more.We then achieved chef Rosemary Shrager as a patron who appeared on various quiz shows (Tipping Point, Celebrity Antiques Road Show, Catchphrase) raising funds and profile for the project. The impact has been huge; the bakery has been approached by numerous documentary film-makers and journalists and attracted further funding and support from big business. The team were invited to a Remembrance Day event at the Cabinet Office.
