  Zinc stannate or zinc tin oxide (ZTO) is a class of ternary oxides that are known for their stable properties under extreme conditions, higher electron mobility compared to its binary counterparts and other interesting optical properties. This material was coupled with Bismuth trisulphide to reduce the band gap and increase the light harvesting efficiency. Fabrication of the these coupled material photoanode was done and different optical properties (UV-Vis Spectroscopy, FTIR spectroscopy) are analysed and furthermore the photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance of the photoanode and possible charge transfer mechanism is suggested. The highest applied-bias-photon to current conversion efficiency (ABPE%) was calculated to be 0.344 at 0.32 V. Show less
