      Corporal / D.A.R.E. Instructor

Over the last 10 years I have had many responsibilities and duties at the C.P.S.O. I began my career in Corrections where for 1 year I experienced what Law Enforcement was all about and how to be responsible overseeing the day to day operations of a correctional center, not to mention improving my relationship skills with co-workers and inmates. For the following 3 years I was a patrol officer in Calcasieu Parish where my duties included a variety of skills. I enforced the laws of the state, city, and parish. I became a crime deterrent in the community. As a patrol officer I was given discretion when dealing with the public in proactive and reactive situations. Such as traffic stops, calls for service, and public events. For the previous 5 years I have developed into a very proactive police officer when dealing with community relations and more specifically the children of the community. I have conducted a number of officer lead discussions with many schools, churches, and small organizational environments when dealing security, crime, general safety, school safety, bullying, drug & gang awareness etc... I have also conducted youth programs introducing children to law enforcement. I have also become a certified D.A.R.E. Instructor where I instruct elementary and middle school aged children on being safe and responsible throughout their lives when dealing with drugs, criminal situations, and overall leaders in their schools and community.
