  Roger has more than 29 years of experience in the behavioral health field working in the areas of employee assistance counseling, community mental health, and substance abuse treatment in all levels of care. During his tenure as the Director of the Membership Assistance Program at the State Bar of Arizona he developed the behavioral health piece of the Diversion from Discipline program that became a model for the American Bar Association’s Commission on Impaired Attorneys. The American Bar Association bestowed the prestigious Gambrill Award for Professionalism to the State Bar of Arizona for this program. He was also on the faculty of the ABA’s International Conference on Impaired Attorneys four consecutive years presenting on EAP Core Technology Roger joined the staff at Chandler Valley Hope in 1994 and has worked as a Primary Counselor, Community Services Clinician, Outpatient Program Director, and Inpatient Program Director. He was a charter member of the Arizona Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors and is the current President of the organization’s Central Chapter and a member of NAADAC. He also served as President of the Network of Employee Assistance Professionals. He was a member of the Ethics Committee, National Program Standards Committee, and the Public Policy/Legislative Committee Liaison for the Employee Assistance Professionals Association. He also served on the Board of Directors of Recourse Foundation and as Vice-Resident and Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Phoenix area National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. Finally he is an Elder at Epic Christian Church in San Tan Valley, Arizona and is the lead guitarist in the praise band. Roger completed his Master’s degree in Addiction Counseling at North Dakota State University in 1983 and is credentialed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor. He and his family moved to Arizona in 1985. Show less
