  ASIA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL FILM TOURISM AWARDS or better known as APIFTA aspires to bridge and connect the film community with the international tourism industry, to promote countries in Asia Pacific region as location and destination for filmmaking activities. The focus of APIFTA for the next few years is basically to create bilateral ties with ‘present day government’ of any countries in both Asean platform, Asia-Pacific region, European Union members and worldwide film community. APIFTA will be official platform to create International Film Destination Initiative Agreement (IFDIA) and the forming of the 1st film tourism organization in South East Asia. The need for IFDIA is in time to banish the so-called red tapes and bureaucracy practised in any countries in applying for film shooting permits, encouraging government of any countries to give incentives and grants for filmmakers who are endorsed under the flagship of APIFTA and the formation of international cooperation between tourism industry and film community to promote member countries. Unlike any other film award or festival, APIFTA shun glamourous world of celebrities, but more to pride in fostering a relationship between film community, tourism industry and government of any countries.
