Doctor of Philosophy - PhD Quaternary Palaeogeographic, Palaeoevironmental and Palaeoclimatic change

The PhD research established a mid to late Pleistocene sequence of deposition for a half-graben basin northeast of the Basin of Mexico creating a Quaternary lithostratigraphic and geochronological framework for the study area. Key, representative sections of the stratigraphic sequence were used to reconstruct a detailed sedimentological, isotopic (δ18O & δ13C), geochemical and biostratigraphic record. Key, representative sections of the stratigraphic sequence were used to reconstruct a detailed sedimentological, isotopic (δ18O & δ13C), geochemical and biostratigraphic record. From these depositional environments were interpreted, and the lateral and vertical distribution of these environments was mapped using facies analysis, and to a lesser extent sequence stratigraphy, to help understand the distribution of palaeoenvironments for a given time interval allowing the Palaeogeography and Palaeoenvironments of the study area to be reconstructed.
