      - Responsible for the knowledge transition from a Singapore-based vendor to the HCL offshore for one of the major pharmaceutical companies in the US. - Managed database support for over 700+ Oracle databases in the EMEA Region. This included the installation of Oracle 10.2.0.5 binaries on Solaris and HP-UX platforms, creating databases, Quality Gate checks, and backup configurations using RMAN and OEM. - Patched the Oracle home using the Opatch utility to fix different kinds of bugs and coordinated with the UNIX and Linux teams for OS-level security patching. - Refreshed application schemas and tables from production to non-prod environments using exp/imp and data pump utilities, and cloned Oracle databases using RMAN. - Created users, roles, and profiles based on standard naming conventions and followed the client processes. - Attended GOC calls for production issues, developed corrective and preventive actions, and created SR with Oracle support for internal errors and bugs. - Troubleshooted production performance issues for OLTP and OLAP application databases. - Carried out SOX DB auditing and monitoring for critical table alerts, login failures, etc.- Provided 24/7 on-call support for production databases in result-oriented and time-critical environments. - Documented the processes and Oracle engineering standards specific to the client and trained the team members. - I was responsible for service level management for the EMEA database group and monitored database alerts from OEM, backup failure, and availability checks for production databases. - Implemented the resource group for better utilization of CPU resources among databases in shared database servers. - Set up ACL/UTL MAIL in the database per the applications' requirements. - Interacted with other IT teams to promote and ensure compliance with Oracle database standards. - Carried out incident, asset, configuration, and change management using Mercury and BMC Remedy.
