I worked on Plastic Scintillator. It involved "measuring Cosmic Rays with Plastic Scintillator (using MPPCs)". I used WLS(Wavelength Shifting) fibers, NIM (Nuclear Instrumentation Module) setups, trigger systems and used the correlation of signals from two plastic scintillators to get timing information for the cosmic muons.

    • KEK

      Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
      Summer Intern

I worked on Argon based Scintillator. I used an alpha source and analyzed the PMT signal. It was an extremely rich learning experience, particularly in learning how research is done. During this internship, I also had the opportunity to learn about and visit some of the other famous experiments like Belle-II, SuperK, KAGRA (Kamioka Gravitational Wave Detector). I also had the fortunate opportunity of talking to Prof.T. Kajita (Nobel Laureate-2015) and Prof. M. Kobayashi (Nobel Laureate-2008).
