During my time at WCU, two of my outstanding projects were the development of a Portable Hydro-Electric Generator (Junior Level Product Design Project) and a Heat Flux Analyzer (Senior Level Capstone Design Project). The Portable Hydro-Electric Generator allows for kinetic fluid energy to be efficiently converted into a 5 Volt, 1-2 Amp DC current allowing for charging of small electronic devices by moving currents greater than 3 m/s. The Heat Flux Analyzer allows for high temperature objects, such as embers, to be placed onto a thermal electric generator (TEG) and produce an electric potential based on the heat flux transferred through the TEG. Using LabVIEW, this continuous analog signal was able to be integrated and processed in real-time to produce the heat flux of high temperature objects within a lab environment. Show less

      2024 - 2027
Master of Science in Computer Science Specialization in Machine Learning

Highlighted Projects:- Machine Learning Trading AlgorithmDeveloped a Random Forest Classification Model able to utilize 5 technical indicators to generate a signal to long, short, or hold a specific asset based on the current values of said indicators. The Model was able to consistently beat the benchmark of buying and holding the asset on both in-sample data with an average of 30% greater return and out-of-sample data with an average of 9% greater return.

      Jun 2019 - Aug 2019
      Computer Engineering Research Intern

A full time position researching Minimal Energy Computational Models via binary logic optimization. During this internship I researched the plausibility of using a new theoretical logic gate, Fredkin Logic Gates, to further optimize the amount of logic gates needed to create binary logic calculators such as full-adders, carry-look ahead adders, and Kogge-Stone adders.

      May 2020 - Sept 2020
      Electrical Engineering Intern

A full summer internship focused on production optimization, reliability, and enhancements. During this internship, I optimized PLC ladder logic code, designed Human-Machine Interface to further automate the paper rolling/packaging process, and incorporated the use of a Doppler Laser devise to measure the lineal footage and speed of paper cutting and reroller machines for accurate calibration of integrated lineal measurement devices.
