The programme also includes one exchange semester at a partner university abroad, eight weeks of internship as well as a field study project within the chosen cultural region. Focussing on management, Spanish and English as main languages and the Anglo-American cultural region, I additionally took courses in CSR, human geography, Mandarin, Russian and French. Given my interest in the Latin-American region, I spent two semesters at Universidad del Desarrollo in Santiago de Chile, where I acquired in-depth knowledge about the country and its people. For my field project, I spent two weeks in Ireland tracing the origins and characteristics of the archetypal Irish Pub. Show less

      AIESEC CUCG is a sub-unit of AIESEC Ghana run by students from the Catholic University College of Ghana in Sunyani. The organisation implements projects aimed at alleviating poverty in the Wrong-Ahafo region with the help of international students taking part in AIESEC International's Global Volunteer Programme (see link below for more information).As an intern with AIESEC CUCG, I was involved in the planning and implementation of Malaria prevention workshops tailored to the needs of rural communities in the Sunyani area. In collaboration with local schools and businesses, I organised and co-hosted a career orientation seminar for high school graduates. In addition, I filled in as a teacher for IT for grade 1 to 7 at St. Matthew's High School in Sunyani, supporting the beginnings of what is now known as the SWITCH project (see link below for more information).       Isoterma is a family-run adventure sport company offering guided rafting tours, mountain biking and paintball for individuals and groups alike. Their premises in the valley of the Maipo river also includes a camping site and BBQ/pic-nic area as well as a rock climbing wall.During my time with Isoterma I worked as a translator and took charge of the reception and registration of camp ground and tour guests. I assisted the tour guides on trips and outings and in maintaining rafting, paint ball and mountain bike equipment.       The task of the recently established Energy, Climate and Environment Section is to coordinate the many different activities Germany is involved with in support of South Africa's transition towards a "Green Economy". It promotes bilateral cooperation between South Africa and Germany on global environmental issues such as climate protection and sustainable development. The Cultural Section on the other hand is dedicated, together with other German and German-South African cultural institutions, to promote contact, co-operation and understanding between the people of Germany and South Africa in the fields of education, sport, music, literature and arts. During my internship at the embassy, I supported the heads of department in the planning and execution of ongoing projects and events and represented embassy officials at local conferences. Furthermore, I drafted and compiled press statements and reports as well as speeches for the ambassador and the heads of department and communicated both verbally and in writing with the embassy's Southafrican and international partners.       Sprachcaffe/GEOS Languages Plus is an association of 30 lanuage schools worldwide offering in-country language courses in English, Frensh, German, Spanish, Mandarin and Arabic to students at all levels. The U20 Programme in Barcelona is tailored at 14 - 19 year-olds and includes 20-30 hours of on-campus Spanish courses, full board and lodging, as well supervised off-campus activities in the afternoons and evenings.As the U20 Programme coordinator, I managed programme budgets and teamer schedules, planned and supervised camp activities and was the first contact person for matters related to board and lodging. Furthermore, I was in charge of organising airport pick-ups and transfers as well as students' transport to and from school. Show less
