      Mechanical Design Engineer

Designed a driving assembly, rotating array arm, and mic mounting system for a Continuous Scan Microphone Array, ensuring minimal acoustic reflections and maintaining relative positional tolerance within 1 mm for the mic mounting system.Conducted Finite Element Analysis to validate structural design requirements, achieving a targeted deflection in any axis of the rotational array arm of less than 0.1 inches under a static load of 1/4th of its own weight, with FEA validating a maximum deflection of around 0.024 inches.Prototyped and manufactured the designed components using a combination of CNCs, lathes, waterjets, and 3D printers, maintaining precision and quality in the manufacturing process.Tested the final design on-site at ATA Engineering, confirming design functionality and effectiveness, with design features including an angular resolution of 0.015 degrees per encoder count and a minimal self-noise of 38.26 dB.
