Part of the organizing involved sorting through older, functional technology to create space for newer technologies to improve patient care.   Learning Consultant

  The Mell Classroom Building (MCB) is a redesigned classroom space which encourages active learning inside and outside of the classroom. This building is the first of its kind on Auburn University's campus. In order for professors and students to get the most out of the MCB, my position as a learning consultant (LC) involved checking technology functionality daily, responding to on-call technology errors, compiling data on technology usage, and conducting tours of the building. My experience as a LC continuously allowed for improvements in communication with coworkers, professors, students, and visitors along with improvements in problem solving and public speaking. Before each semester started, every returning LC helped train the new LCs in fixing technological errors whilst maintaining professionalism under stress.Within this position, I further enhanced my ability to work well under pressure and solve problems when professors and students have difficulty informing myself and my coworkers about the technological issues they encounter. Technological issues encompass turning on a device and performing hard resets on various devices to teaching professors how to use video-streaming services along with how to use Windows software itself.When Auburn University shut down physical operations in response to the seriousness of the COVID-19 pandemic, my position adjusted to help professors campus-wide. Instead of teaching professors how to use the building specific technology in person, I started answering their questions on how to use Canvas, Zoom, Panopto, and various online proctoring services (Respondus LockDown Browser, HonorLock, and ProctorU) with the help of three other faculty from numerous departments across campus.
