"Luis Miguel Amaro de Carvalho, born in September 05, 1997, held for a period of 1 month and a half, between July 4 and August 12, 2416 in Luanda, Angola, a professional internship in its Quatenus GT Business Unit. The project was part of the preparation of the Electoral Registry in Angola and involved around 1 ,000 operators throughout the 18 provinces of Angola, equipped with Tablet's with GPS technology, which for about 30 days collected various information about 100,000 geo-referenced points throughout the territory. With the survey of these reference points is intended to achieve positioning Angolan citizens in the territory so that they can then be assigned to the polling station closest to their place of residence. To monitor and support the operators was set up a Monitoring Centre and Help Desk in Luanda, with 18 technicians, where Luis Carvalho was integrated and performed his internshipThe internship began by training in the technologies and methodologies adopted in the project and consisted of the monitoring, treatment and analysis of the events, sent by the operators. For this study we used the Quatenus GTI systems (http://www.quatenus.co.ao), a tool that allowed us to have access to real-time location of equipment operators, during working hours, around the large stretching territory of Angola, together with the activities carried out by them during the course of the project."(Paid internship) Show less

      Credentialing/Accreditation Coordinator

The project was part of the Elections process of Angola and involved 600 operators throught all 18 Angolan provinces. These operators were tasked with collecting information using Tablet's possessing GPS technology, which for about 3 weeks collected information for all authorised personnel involved in the election process. 400.000 credentials were issued in all Angolan territory.A section of this project comprised of teams tasked with accrediting observers, both national and international, in order to analyse and investigate the whole election proccess.I was within the team tasked with accrediting International observers, watching entities which would then report back to their country/organisation about the systems and processes behind this election. These observers came from all over the world (nearly, if not all african countries, as SADC was heavily involved, from the American embassy, multiple Asian countries such as China and Japan, as well as the EU, amongst many more). Some of the higher staff spoke English, but I was able to take advantage of the knowledge and skills from my previous internship, as well as my language skills (fluent English) to maintain an untroubled environment and successfully accredit and converse with said entities. Furthermore, I was able to explain and dissect the system and information available to observers, and was able to translate whenever staff required me to.(Paid internship) Show less
