      May 2024 - Aug 2024
      Interpretive Trail Guide

As a full time Interpretive Trail Guide with the Yukon Conservation Society (YCS) I lead individuals on free guided hikes at Kwanlin (Miles Canyon), a cultural and historical landmark. From covering the First Nation history of the area to the local flora, fauna, and geographical history, the hikes focus on the numerous stories that intersect at this beautiful landmark. Guided hikes are also occasionally lead with local professionals such as biologists, botanists, and historians, along with other educational organizations in Whitehorse to give the public a specific themed hike that focuses on one of the many subjects the canyon has to offer. During these guided hikes my role as a trail guide includes collaborating with guest speakers to provide a memorable and educational experience, while still covering some of the basic history of the area in the allotted hike times. My roles at the office include contributing to the YCS social media by creating knowledgable content for the organization (Ex. plant Identification writeup + photos). Show less
