  John Michael Hill, or "Mike" to most, began his real estate career in 1976 by earning his Rhode Island real estate license and buying his first house. He sold the house a year later and bought a building in downtown Newport that would become his first of seven condominium projects. Mike focused on the marketing, sales, and leasing of all these condominiums. Other condominium projects followed in Middletown, Portsmouth, Bristol, and Tiverton. Mike is the founder and owner of F.M. Properties, Inc., a design and building company based in Middletown, Rhode Island.F.M. Properties is the exclusive builder for Westchester Modular Homes in Rhode Island. Mike has been recognized by the National Association of Home Builders as a Certified Green Professional (CGP) and was recently awarded the National Association of Realtors’ prestigious GREEN designation. Mike has built to Energy Star efficiency standards for the last ten years and is intimately familiar with best practices with this focus. F.M. Properties is an energy star partner; recently one of its custom-built homes received the top “5 Star Plus Confirmed” rating.Over the past twenty years, Mike has designed and built custom modular homes throughout Rhode Island. He has extensive experience in real estate marketing, sales, permitting, designing, zoning, and planning board applications and approvals. He also has wide-ranging experience in contracting and financing single family, multi-family, and commercial real estate projects.
