  The STANDD initiative focuses on developing novel analytical techniques to group ad data from popular sites, creating tools that law enforcement can use to combat sex trafficking more effectively. By analyzing online sex advertisements using graph-based methods, we have built a dataset of over 60 million ads, scraping 100,000 daily, to identify potential trafficking situations. This method enhances our analysis, helping law enforcement identify over 50 potential victims.Through this project, I have learned tremendously about data science and its real-world applications in making a societal impact. Our work demonstrates the power of technology in driving social change, with goals to expand our dataset and refine our algorithms to continue aiding in the fight against sex trafficking. Show less
