Time Boxes A full-stack react application that allows a user to create and save multiple stopwatches.https://github.com/simtimj/timeBoxes• Utilized Firebase for real-time data synchronization between the database and client to prevent accidental data loss. • Built out the CRUD API to store stopwatches to the Firebase database, and read and render stopwatch data.• Constructed a single-page web app utilizing Babel for transpiling, Webpack bundling, React for the front end, and Firebase for the back end. Show less MerryMenMarketA financial service application with a focus on stock investment.https://github.com/merry-men-market/julius-MerryMenMarketProxy• Deployed service to horizontally scaled Amazon Web Services EC2 instances. • Utilized Nginx as a load balancer to be able to handle 1000 requests per second to the server at a latency of 25ms with a 0.5% error rate.• Designed and built out CRUD API to query for data stored in a PostgreSQL database.• Developed application with 3 other engineers utilizing the agile methodologies of daily stand-ups, code reviews, and pull requests. Show less Das HaustellesA hostel booking service for users to find and book hostels anywhere around the world.https://github.com/das-haustelles/julius-appHeader• Designed 4 microservice components with React to build out a user interface in a service-oriented architecture. • Utilized Docker and Docker Hub to containerize service servers, database, and dependencies, to be accessed via AWS EC2 instances.• Used the JavaScript library Styled-Components for the design and elimination of possible naming conflicts and accidental style overwriting between microservices. • Maintenance and fixing of general build issues such as dependency vulnerability scan changes, SonarQube bugs and vulnerabilities, etc discussed in weekly security SCRUM meetings.• Implemented a Jenkins pipeline script for the automated building of 10+ application docker images pulled from GitHub, then deployment of the newly built images to specified Kubernetes staging pods depending on the app, then deployment to corresponding production pods if the staging pods are healthy for a week. Made for routine image refreshing.• Worked on deprecating a legacy app that previously provided users with information about their messaging system subscriptions/ lag information. This included migration of Kafka topics API functionality to another hyperwarp app, updating documentation for the latter app, identifying existing users of the sunsetting app, and notifying them of the deprecation, timeline, and the next steps. Show less • Designed and implemented a Rest-based API to work with IBM’s BACA (business automation content analyzer) used to classify bill of sales documents and their contents in the form of graphs and statistics.• Utilized content analyzer to assess the data capture quality of 50+ invoice documents, visualizing the document’s classification, mandatory data status, and the analyzer’s confidence as graphs and statistics.• Developed internal tool application leveraging IBM’s Watson to create a slack chatbot to assist employees in finding other employees with certain skills such as Python, javascript, etc, found in their submitted resumes.
