  I have the greatest job at Lighthouse Labs as I was tasked with maintaining a culture set up by a crazy and hilarious community of weirdos (staff and students) who believe in alternative education models that promote technical learning through intense, hands-on training. I am responsible for building and nurturing relationships with our students, staff, alumni, community partners and the community at large by providing platforms and opportunities to connect. I have had the opportunity to make amazing connections with the tech community in Vancouver by hosting events, supporting community initiatives and attending meetups. I have had the privilege to work on a number of passion projects during my time here, most notably helping the TechToronto team bring TechVancouver to the west coast! TechVan is a monthly tech meetup that invites founders of tech-focused companies to give a 5-minute presentation on a lesson learned while building their business.   As the first in-house developer for Omnifilm Entertainment, I worked specifically with Namaste TV [https://www.namaste.tv], maintaining their custom-built Shopify theme, creating mailchimp templates for different campaigns and building features, product pages and updates within Shopify to address specific concerns or needs.
