My role consists of installation/configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco networking equipment, proper network communication to servers and NetApp filers, and upgrades of switches. In addition to typical routing and switching technologies, we are also supporting deployment of FCoE, Fiber Channel, and a new roll-out of Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) technology. Networking equipment includes Cisco Nexus (2248/2232 fabric extenders, 5010/5020/5548/5596 switches, 7000 and 9K switches), Catalyst (2960 switches, 4900 switches), and Cisco Fiber Channel 9710 MDS switches. Additional functions include assigning/reserving IPv4/IPv6 addresses within DNS server, configuration of NetApp filer interfaces (cluster, data, management for both 7-mode and 10-mode clusters), and physical installation of network equipment.
