  Senior BIW Design Engineer

  Overview • Responsible for design and development activities for automotive Body-in-White (BIW) structure in full scale (both in-house design and localize), minor change projects, and special edition projects. Design and Development • Plan and execute design and localization activities of BIW parts/assemblies. Liaise and collaborate with cross-functional team, suppliers, and counterparts. Coordinate meetings, trials and troubleshoots activities for part development to meet quality, timing, and cost requirements. • Plan and execute non localization BIW part/system for installation preparation with production, logistic and related team requirements. • Analyze and execute design improvement activities on BIW parts to solve issue highlighted in ‘Problem Pick-up meetings’ by testing, production, quality, marketing, and other related functional departments. Present to management on design solution for agreement which related to QRQC/QIT. • Scrutinize and create Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) and manage 2D and 3D data for BIW parts in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system. • Evaluate, analyze, and decide the feasibility of design/process change request by counterpart for BIW parts through engineering change management (ECM) meeting and process flow. • Provide and establish design guidelines, lesson learnt, DFMEA, and other design related documents • Prepare approval papers, utilize and monitor BPM process, request invoices from suppliers, provides engineering certificate and memo, and present to management for any cost related design improvement/testing which incurred by PROTON. • Analyze and support suppliers, marketing, and accessory management team to develop accessories part which related and assigned to BIW items.
