When I was volunteering with St Timothy’s Primary School, I was given a great number of opportunities not only in St Andrews High School but with NL Active Schools and Sport Scotland as well. After spending a year working with other great volunteers coaching primary 7 pupils, I gained a lot from the experience. I was able to handle money and take account of all children in the class, maintain a safe environment for the kids to play and have fun in, ensure that there was enough equipment for the children and sustain a fun yet disciplined class to secure a happy and safe club.
