Propulsion Systems (EP4) Engineering Intern - 2 tours

Two NASA-JSC Internship Tours - Summer 2014 & Summer 2015. (Funded by Universities Space Research Association). Worked in EP4 under the Propulsion Systems Branch. Designed, tested and fabricated components for Mars Ascent Vehicle (MAV) propulsion system. Supported test activities related to the integration and testing of propulsion system propellants with solid oxide fuel cells and testing of composite propellant tanks. Integrated a solid oxide fuel cell in the CAD model for Morphus Lander and for a Service Module. Tested an injector using liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen to study atomization for future hot fire testing using a portable testing "Cryocart." Show less

    • Trinity University - Engineering Sciences Department

      Sept 2014 - May 2015

Assisted in performing experiments in an internal combusion engines lab. My duties included paper reviews, critiquing presentations of other research assistants and performing labs. The research concerned observing the evaporation rates of a sessile drop of many different compounds. Tutored students in my class with CREO design software and assisted the professor in two of his other classes. Volunteered a minimum of 5 hours per week for the entirety of the Fall 2014 semester.

      • Mechanical Engineering Research Assistant to Dr. Peter Kelly-Zion

        Oct 2014 - May 2015
      • CREO Tutor
