  In this position, I have been responsible for drawing and correcting centerlines for roads and highways for the entirety of Dawson County, GA, using TIGER road files and comparing them versus aerial photography, Google Maps, and Dawson’s local 911 emergency databases. I have used the final roads’ centerline file to determine Fire & Rescue five minute response time radius based on the road file created instead of Euclidian measurement.   Roadway Lighting GIS Technician II

  GIS Analyst working on Roadway Lighting LED Projects.In this position I have been tasked with the query and location of all specific lights along every road in Georgia, broken down city by city, and county by county in some cases. I find the lights via query builder, and check every light for if it is one that should be changed to LED via checking it against the Georgia Power Electric Distribution map, Google Streetvierw, and by riding out to the light to field check it in some cases. I use Arc Design plugin to change out the old orange roadway lights into new energy efficient LED lights. The Georgia Power crews then use my maps to go out into the field and change the lights.I have also voluntarily taken on special projects within the department for GIS and mapping related work, such as special lighting jobs and Atlanta Smart City projects, where in I assess and determine which locations and fixtures need to be changed based on provided customer data from outside sources, not only Georgia Power provided data.
