      Nurse Clinician

The Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) at SSCY Centre is a community-based health care facility providing services to children with special needs and their families. The Nurse Clinician in the Newborn Follow-Up program functions as a pivotal member of the multidisciplinary team and their main functions include:• Initiating the follow-up of neonates “at risk” for neurodevelopmental delays (selected in the Intensive Care/Intermediate Care nurseries of the Health Science Centre) and implementation of the program for enrolled infants. Exercising clinical judgment to identify children who do not clearly meet criteria.• Assisting with clinical patient care, developmental assessments, education, research, and statistical analysis on the long-term outcome of “at risk” infants.• Liaising with health professionals of various disciplines regarding issues related to neonatal follow-up in a consultative capacity.
