    • M. H. Alshaya Co.

      Jan 2015 - Jun 2017
Head of Talent / Change Management

Recently set up the CMO (Change Management Office) for a major multi-year change within IT which will lead to process and other changes throughout this 46,000 people strong company. Alshaya has over 70 different brands (mainly franchised from the UK / USA) and means that I am now very comfortable working in the retail sector (as you will see below, my original career was in engineering). From January 2015 to January 2017 I led an amazing High Performance Team and was responsible for setting and promoting the Talent Management strategy for the Company, following consultation with all key stakeholders. My role was to ensure that the Talent function provides a sustainable, well-functioning approach to talent management that helps the Company to achieve its strategic goals. In practice we worked with key stakeholders about how what we do helps the organisation to achieve its vision. We identified, engage and developed our future leaders; and recognised and valued our highly-skilled specialists. We also supported our organisational siblings in the L&D function and enjoyed taking active part in delivering our corporate approaches in Coaching, Project Management and a range of other subjects; as well as leading the organisational leadership development programmes from front-line to senior management. The mix of strategic/analytical and 'in the moment'/practical made the job very rewarding. I returned to the UK for personal reasons and would highly recommend Alshaya as an employer. Show less
