      I decided on a BTEC over doing A-Levels as I genuinely believed that a BTEC would be more useful to me in terms of hands on experience with IT and I feel it was the right choice. This course taught a range of skills from basic programming to web development to business and how IT should be used within business environments and understanding client needs.

      As a Systems Administrator my main responsibilities include the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of servers. However, my responsibilities can be split into three different categories.1) Support - Making sure that servers are being looked after and offering help and guidance to customers who are having issues or have questions regarding their services. Also ensuring that in emergency situation, customers and kept informed and up to date and much as possible. This role can vary from patching hosts/servers, helping solve issues a particular customer is experiencing, etc.2) Provisioning - Ensuring that customer orders are processed and delivered in a timely manor and to a high standard from the supplier order, to un-boxing and racking the server to the final install and configuration. Always making sure the customer gets what they require and making sure any problems are ironed out before hand over.3) Projects - Working on improving the infrastructure and researching alternative and better solutions.
