  Through a three month placement at Arthritis Research UK working alongside the research liaison and evaluation team, I was able to understand the grant giving process as well as how progress of research is evaluated via analysing Researchfish reports and other outputs. The role of this team is to act as a single point of contact for anyone within the charity who is seeking information on research funded by Arthritis Research UK. I was able to ensure that news and information emerging from the research directorate, including their research outputs and successes, were clearly translated and provided in a timely manner to the relevant teams across the charity. I prepared a variety of written material for the fundraising and communication departments, external publications and creative agencies including reports, briefings, FAQ documents and research updates. Through analysing the outputs of their grants, I was able to highlight achievements of the charity and produced a timeline of those achievements, which was later used in a research leaflet and on their website.
