  As the Senior IT Technician for the Department of Information Technology and Decision Sciences, at UENR, I am dedicated to supporting and enhancing the technological infrastructure and capabilities within our department. My role involves a variety of technical and support functions aimed at ensuring a seamless IT experience for faculty, staff, and students.Key Responsibilities:• Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support to faculty, staff, and students within the department. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly to minimize disruption to academic activities.• System Maintenance: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of departmental IT equipment, including computers, printers, and specialized devices. Perform regular updates and security checks to ensure systems run smoothly and securely.• Network Management: Manage and maintain the department's local area network (LAN). Ensure network security and performance through regular monitoring and troubleshooting.• User Training: Conduct training sessions for departmental staff and students on new software applications and best practices. Create and maintain documentation and user guides to assist with common IT tasks.• Project Assistance: Collaborate with department faculty on IT-related projects, providing technical expertise and support.• Asset Management: Maintain an inventory of departmental IT assets.
