  PI: Dr. Amit Reddi- Currently working alongside a graduate student to further explore the possibilities of heme reductase activity in S. cerevisiae (Baker’s yeast) and Candida albicans.- Tested cells and corresponding knockout gene cells in aerobic and anaerobic conditions.- Attendance of weekly lab meetings with other graduate students in Reddi Lab to discuss findings. - Designed and conducted an individual research project over the summer- Experimented with mutant strains of S. cerevisiae to identify the potential gene involved in heme reductase activity on a cellular level in aerobic and anaerobic conditions - Identification of potential genes that may be involved in heme reductase activity
