It was concluded that Kuttanad Clay minerals belong to Kaolinite-montmorillonite group and the clay is marked by high moisture content and high plasticity.

      A study was conducted to evaluate the adsorption characteristics of Fly ash – GGBS mixture (70% fly ash & 30% GGBS) in removing heavy metals from water. The heavy metal used in this study is Lead. It was observed that Flyash-GGBS mixture is better than Flyash alone. The mixture is most effective at a pH range of 10 – 11 and the optimum time is taken for maximum removal is between 1 – 2 hrs.
