      The Frenchgate Centre has been the heart of Doncaster for over 40 years, and was originally called the Arndale Centre after its creators, but was renamed in 1988 after a change of ownership, when it became know as Frenchgate. At the start of the decade the centre underwent a £200 million facelift to transform it into the country’s first shopping centre with integrated public transport and retail interchange facility. With over 150 retailers and 20 food outlets it is a prime shopping destination in the north.My position here provided project leadership to assigned projects, promotions and sales from various companies and industries. I was responsible for managing resources (time, people) to successfully execute commercial activity throughout the centre whilst communicating functional strategies to other members of the management team. I also managed risk, executed approvals, and lead conflict resolution. A key aspect of the role was to expand the contracts of promotions and retail merchandising units and create innovative plans to ensure the centre realises its commercial growth potential and objectives. Much of the commercialisation was supported through consistent marketing material such as social media and website updates and contacting other media outlets when necessary. The overall role aims to provide a level of income for the centre through complimentary promotions and product sales within the malls and bring the centre to life using interesting and engaging activities.
