  My behavioral research project involved working with a team and conducting our own research experiment with five cows at Peckham Farm. With 125 hours of video observation, our team designed a sound ethogram to describe certain behaviors of cows. Using continuous sampling, our group then objectively quantified the cow’s behavior using BORIS. Then all groups had to test the effect of a variable of our choosing, in this case we chose a yoga ball. The results of our individual findings were then constructed onto an academic poster that was presented to the class. Interestingly, cows behave differently when the yoga ball was present for the first five minutes of introduction. Show less
