      The duties of a Clerk will vary in different parishes and towns but generally include the duty of summoning and attending the meetings of the council; keeping the council minutes; taking charge of the council books and deeds and documents, and giving extracts from the same to any person entitled. As Town Clerk, I am also the responsible financial officer and keep the accounts of the council, deal with the budgets, VAT, PAYE and the annual audit. The Town Clerk ensures that the decisions of the Council are carried out and is responsible for advising the Council, to assist the Council in making informed decisions. I am responsible for overseeing the implementation of projects and supervising of staff.
