  Four years as a Contractor, working in the JALLC: NATO's lead agent for intelligent change. I served as an Operational Research Analyst in the Lessons Learned and Analysis Support Branch, supplying logical and mathematical reasoning in support of projects dealing with broad NATO issues, as well as providing critical review and advice on written work.This involved working in a multinational military environment, balancing support to multiple projects using a PRINCE2-derived project management approach. In addition, I provided lectures in support of JALLC Analysis Training and the NATO Lessons Learned Staff Officer Course.   Employed as a Consultant for QinetiQ Advisory Services, with OA skills employed tosupport a number of QQ's clients, as well as prepare bid work and internal modellingand skills development. Specific elements included:- Prepared a Main Gate Operational Analysis Supporting Paper (OASP) for DE&S tosupport a Category C project. This involved re-visiting and refreshing the workdescribed in a 3rd party lnitial Gate OASP. The work included improvement andreworking of the Scaling analysis, performing a Combined Operational Effectivenessand lnvestment Appraisal and working with Army HQ to refine estimates of the TotalFleet Requirement.- Performed an investigation into the impact of the Single Fuel Policy on a potentialfuture procurement. This involved studying the relevant policy and examining thepotential for non-compliant options: what advantages these could bring balancedagainst the additional needs involved in pursuing an option outside the policy. Thework included document research, scoping and reporting a rough whole-life costmodel, drawing conclusions and then presenting the results in a clear, concise report.- Engaged in a number of optimization exercises around the long term efforts toreplace and revitalize a substantial fleet. The work included comparing operationaleffectiveness over time across multiple procurement options and investigating thevalue of using life-extension to mitigate the shortfall between obsolescence andreplacement.
