  Win Thein is a Project Manager responsible for managing Qualitative and Monitoring & Evaluation research in Myanmar. He has over 8 years of experiences working with the Myanmar Marketing Research & Development (MMRD) Company, one of the leading research agencies in Myanmar. Prior to this, he worked as a capacity builder and trainer for Save the Children International during the Nargis Cyclone Emergency Response 2008, and was an environmental awareness trainer for UNDP and Spectrum INGO. He has a proven track record of success in delivering the training module on Social Research Methods sponsored by DFID/Pyoe Pin to representatives of international and local NGOs. He is well versed in research works including delivering training, qualitative & quantitative research analyses, amongst others. He oversees Research Supervisors, Team Leaders and Interviewers, and is responsible for their professional development during the project period. He has worked in areas of water and sanitation(WASH), public health, education, livelihoods, food security, microfinance and disaster risk reduction(DRR) throughout Myanmar.   (1) Assist in development of research proposals including costing as agreed with Senior Management teams. (2) Design the questionnaire/delegate responsibility for designing the questionnaires and ensure that they are approved by the client and internal departments. (3) Manage project teams within the research teams and effectively delegate responsibility on all relevant aspects of the project, to ensure accurate, timely and cost effective execution of the research. (4) Define, in consultation with a Project Consultant if necessary, appropriate research protocols and ethical issues which provide solutions to each client brief. (5) Deliver the training for the field research team in order to control field data quality aspects. (6) Draw up schedules for assigned projects and ensure that they are issued and agreed by all relevant personnel, notifying people immediately of any changes. (7) Supervise & take responsibility for work of members of the project team before, during and after field work operations. (8) Perform as a Project Manager in some projects especially qualitative basic researches. (9) Assist report writing team by preparing the field report and data confirmation with data processing team and field team. (8) Monitor actual performance against budgeted costs on projects. (9) Manage Research Supervisors, Team Leaders and Interviewers being responsible for their development & performance within the project period.   A Myanmar national grown up and holds a Master of Arts degree, with psychology, from Yangon University and a Bachelor degree in psychology from Magway University. He has over 10 years of experiences working with Myanmar Marketing Research & Development (MMRD) Company as a project manager. He has participated in more than 100 assessment and evaluation study projects with UN agency, INGOs and multi-international company. He is well versed in research works including delivering training, and qualitative and quantitative research analyses. He has worked in areas of microfinance, water and sanitation (WASH), public health, education, livelihoods, food security and disaster risk reduction (DRR) throughout Myanmar. He also manages the role of training coordinator for the Applied Research and Interviewer Training (ARIT) program.
