      Started out as a volunteer as a lost and found clerk. Was hired on full time and the responsibility of supervising and scheduling volunteers was added to my responsibilities, I was also the point of contact for all rescues pulling animals from the shelter and was the coordinator and sometimes driver for special events and grooming appointments for the dogs/cats/horses. I was also allowed to assist in feeding exotic airmails when in our care including monkeys, racoon, bear, skanes and various others. Show less

I assured all dietary and exercise needs for each horse was met. I managed, trained and scheduled all volunteers. I organized and ran various events to promote and raise funds to operate the facility as well as being responsible for all advertising.       As an advisory committee member, I was responsible for addressing industry-related concerns about the Equine Medication and Monitoring Program. The committee ensures the integrity of public horse shows, competitions, and sales through the control of performance and disposition enhancing drugs and permitting limited therapeutic use of drugs at an equine event. The committee also helped rewrite legislature which allowed the enforcement of the rules by setting up a fine structure and deciding which drugs needed to be lab tested to decide allowable amounts of some substances as well as which substances were not allowed at all. As a committee we set the fees for the competitors as well as the severity of fees if rules were broken or competitors did not cooperate with officials. Show less
