  Ran day to day operations, dispatched all drivers, did billing, set up routes, hired and fired drivers, dock workers, office personnel and technicians. We had 15 drivers, 2 office personnel and 1 technician. Made sure drivers and technicians adhered to all DOT rules and regs. I did everything from mow the lawn to help in the shop when things got busy and still answered questions from drivers with their issues on deliveries. Once in a while I would jump into a truck and help out if we were really busy, I am a CDL-a holder. Unfortunately though, the Covid-19 virus had slowed us down tremendously, and corporate had to make cutbacks.. When I inherited the job, honestly the entire terminal was a mess, drivers constantly were in a state of unhappiness, everything was dirty and disgusting. They felt that no one cared for them, and their pay was abysmal. Why they were still there, I have no idea, really.. Soon after I started, I started to tweak things, and they got better. It started to feel like a family, they all got raises, and things started to run smoothly. I hired some better drivers at better pay, and dealt with problem employees. At the same time improving our on time delivery scores with our clients and landing a few new ones increasing our volume. Show less
