Executed a test run on the system to optimise the filter commissioning process. - Investigated high CO2 slips on the Benfield unit related to maldistribution of liquid in a packed column. Executed test runs on the system to optimise operating parameters. - Performed investigations into the reboil rate of Benfield carbonate system heat exchanges as well as regeneration capacity. - Audited the steam traps on the Benfield carbonate system for system optimisation and cost saving.- Completed mass balances for Benfield and Cold Separation on the CO2 load, condensate1 & 3 system as well as a hydraulic pressure analysis for Benfield. - Responsible for project documentation such as Potential Deviation Analyses (PDA’s) required as part of safety reviews and Management of Change documentation (MoC’s).       - Technical: fire engineering technical recommendations to underwriters after reviewing technical reports. The source of recommendations was derived from guides produced by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Fire Protection Association of Southern Africa (FPASA), South African National Standards (SANS), FM Global. - Managing the Old Mutual Insure Risk Tracker (data analysis): an exclusive tracker I built, to monitor and analyse every risk surveyed, and the accompanying risk requirements to be implemented by the insured client. This tracker detailed timelines of compliance and highlighted the progress of compliance/ non-compliance. Based on this information I could then easily report to EXCO on the progress of compliance and escalate any challenges of non-compliance to the underwriters of the accounts for swift action. This tracker was a useful tool for data analysis and meaningful presentation to EXCO. - Client and Broker engagement (relationship management) on outstanding risk requirements or risk management issues identified.- Talent acquisition: Lead employee placement in our division.- Business Process Analysis: Mapping Operational Procedures/ Process Flows within and external to my division, i.e. process optimising. This resulted in word documents (written procedures), and MS Visio graphical maps, detailing the processes for normal work procedures and escalation processes. - Designing Service Level Agreements between the various divisions internally as well as externally. - Developing a work breakdown structure for the surveyors based on the split in their work between Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa.       - Capital and Operating Budgets (cap: R10mn): I reviewed the level of efficiency and viability of the organisation, financial performance management with quarterly reporting inclusive of modelling and data analysis. - Strategy development and implementation of all insurance risk projects to ensure the financial sustainability of the company while generating an additional revenue of R2.5mn annually; development and implementation of policy approved by the Board of Directors. - Managing the Association’s financial affairs: Monitoring income and expenditure from operations, interest on investments, magazine publication, and insurer levies (stakeholder contribution, etc.). - Oversight: Active participation in Board, Audit, Risk & Compliance, Stakeholder Engagement, Pre-financial audit and Post-financial Audit Committee meetings, Annual General Meetings, and Annual Strategy Meetings. - Operational and tactical: Organise, plan, coordinate and control all functions of the FPASA extending to classroom and virtual fire training, advanced fire engineering diploma oversight, field fire risk assessments, fire magazine technical contribution and editing, member engagement and value add, insurance fire projects related to fire services assessments on a national scale, insurance fire technical webinars, contribution to national code development and review (e.g. SANS 10287 and SANS 10090). - Innovation & Design: Identifying new services to be developed and offered to ensure the FPASA remains a leader in the field of fire safety in the Southern African region. - Human Resources: Disciplinary hearings, staff appointments, promotions, performance management, termination of services, and representing the company at the CCMA in mediation hearings. - Stakeholder relationship management. - Legal & Compliance: managed compliance with the in-house designed quality management system processes and procedures (ISO 9001:2015), KING IV assessment and compliance.
