The development side of the internship focuses on getting the Darkness to Light Stewards of Children training course approved by different State Departments of Education as an approved Professional Development Course. To get the Stewards of Children training approved, applications explaining the program have to be completed for each state, state teachers’ association or school district, if an application is required. If there is no application required, then each district/governing body must be contacted to get the training information to the teachers. So far two of the states I was working with have approved Darkness to Light training as a form of Professional Development. As facilitator the Stewards of Children workshops, I train local organizations within the community to recognize and prevent child sexual abuse. Show less
